If you have never been to Zion, you are welcome here. Whatever has brought you, come as you are, sit where you like, and meet the Lord who is glad to receive you.
There’s nothing to figure out first.
You don’t need to be a Lutheran, or know the hymns, or understand the liturgy to come to Zion. The service is printed in full for you to follow, and someone will be near the door to help you find your way.
Come once simply to watch and listen. That is exactly what the first disciples did.

The same Divine Service is offered at several times. Any of them is a good place to begin.
Questions you may have
Where do I park, and which door?
Come a few minutes early so you can settle in. Park in the lot on the north (Franklin Street) side of the church. You may enter through the doors on either the east or the west side; the west entrance is the most accessible. An usher will hand you a worship bulletin and point you toward a seat.
Is there a dress code?
No. You’ll see everything from coats and ties to plain everyday clothes. The key is to dress in a way that directs all our attention and devotion to the Lord.
What happens, and how long?
The Divine Service follows the historic liturgy of the Church: Scripture, preaching, prayer, and the Lord’s Supper. Everything is printed in the folder, so you can simply follow along. Plan on about an hour, though festival services at Christmas and Easter may run longer.
Are my children welcome?
Very much so. The sound of children is the sound of a living church, and no one minds the wiggles. A cry room and changing space are available; ask an usher.
Is the building accessible?
The accessible entrance is on the west side of the building, off the main parking lot. Restrooms are on the lower level, reached by an elevator just off the west entrance corridor. If you have a particular need, call ahead and we’ll make sure you’re cared for.
May I receive the Lord’s Supper?
Zion is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, in fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Communicant members of the ELS and WELS may commune at Zion. All visitors may rest in the promise of Christ’s forgiveness, come forward for a blessing at the altar, and learn the path of confessional Lutheranism that leads to membership. It is a joyful path, worth all we give it.
